Kitchen remodels for Portland-area homeowners.
From a clean refresh to a full gut-and-rebuild. Keyser Construction has been remodeling kitchens across the Portland metro for nearly three decades, with the licenses, insurance, and certifications to back it.
The kitchen is the room your house gets judged on.
By guests, by family, and by anyone who eventually buys the home. It also takes more abuse than any other room. When the layout fights how you cook, the cabinets sag, or the finishes look ten years older than they are, a well-planned remodel pays you back every day you use it.
Whether you want a clean refresh, a layout reconfiguration, or a full gut-and-rebuild, we handle the whole job with our own crew: demo, plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinets, countertops, lighting, paint, fixtures.
What we include in a Keyser kitchen remodel
- Custom, semi-custom, or quality stock cabinets
- Quartz, quartzite, marble, or butcher block countertops
- Layout changes (wall removal, plumbing relocation, island add)
- Appliance install (Wolf, Sub-Zero, Miele, Bosch, GE, etc.)
- Tile backsplash + waterproofing
- Layered lighting (recessed, pendants, under-cabinet)
- Electrical updates to current code (GFCI, dedicated circuits)
- Built-in pantries, beverage stations, custom range hoods
Real credentials. Verifiable.
Keyser Construction has been remodeling and building Portland-area homes for nearly 30 years. Every license and rating below is independently verifiable.
What we won't compromise on
Cabinet installation. A great kitchen with poorly installed cabinets is a bad kitchen. We level the floor (or shim the cabinet feet) before setting boxes, scribe to walls that aren't square, and shim the uppers to a true plane. Tight reveals between doors and drawers don't happen by accident.
Range hood ventilation. A range hood that doesn't move enough air or is vented improperly stops being a range hood and starts being decoration. We size for the cooktop and vent to the outside, not into the attic.
Outlet and switch placement. Modern kitchens have a lot of things that plug in. We plan outlets where you'll actually use them, not in the middle of a backsplash you'll be looking at for the next 20 years.
How a Keyser kitchen remodel runs
Three phases. One point of contact. One written estimate.
Walk-through & scope
We come out, measure, look at the load-bearing walls, plumbing routing, and electrical capacity. We talk through how you cook and what frustrates you about the current kitchen. Free, no obligation.
Design, selections, estimate
Layout, cabinets, counters, appliances, finishes. We pair you with the right designer scope for your project, refine the plan, and produce a line-item written estimate. Long-lead items go into queue.
Build, finish, walkthrough
Demo, rough-in, inspections, cabinets, countertops, finish work, fixtures, appliances. Final walkthrough, punch list, and warranty paperwork at close-out.
Older Portland-area kitchens
A lot of the homes we work on were built between 1900 and the 1990s. The kitchens come with predictable surprises behind the drywall:
- Knob-and-tube wiring that has to come out before insulation can go in
- Galvanized supply lines past their service life
- Undersized electrical (often 60 to 100 amp service) that can't handle a modern induction range
- Asbestos in old floor tile, mastic, or vermiculite insulation
- Lead paint in pre-1978 homes (we are EPA Lead-Safe Renovator Certified under the RRP rule)
- Load-bearing walls hiding behind the soffit that has to come out
We surface these in the estimate, not after the contract.
