Modern Edge
Milwaukie, a small town south east of Portland, has been the site for many of our renovations over the last few years.

On the Schmeltzer project we rebuilt their existing carport with an exaggerated slope. While the original reason for the rebuild was to stop water from pooling on the low slope of the roof the new higher slope also serves to create a fresh and interesting roof-line with a modern look.
We also created a more private space by building a partial wall along the exterior. This provides protection against the weather, acting as a buffer for high winds and slanting rains.

On the interior wall, the the storage was integrated into the new structure to gain more of the convenience of a garage and to clean up the appearance from the street.

A final coat of paint brought the separate elements together, creating a stand-out of a free standing carport!
