Out of the Box
The Smith project in South West Portland took an unusually shaped kitchen and used that shape to its advantage, exaggerating the non linear space even further with cabinetry locations and ending with a custom glass, curved seating area that overlooks a large window.
The cabinetry is custom with several designer touches including cabinetry that comes all the way down the the counter top, slide away cabinet doors around the microwave station, glass doors revealing charming glass dishes, and a special section in the wine bar area with a darker tone.

Coordinating backsplashes work well together with a large scale neutral tile for most of the kitchen and a more striking glass tile mosaic behind the range and continuing up behind the range hood to the ceiling.
