Tale of two Houses

Located on a large country lot in Wilsonville, 30 minutes south of the Portland Metro area, the Axness addition was unusual.

The original home was compact and needed updating and repairs.  Rather than spending money updating the existing building they built a separate home nearby with new two car garage, an all new kitchen, spacious great room and incredible master suit. The existing home was then converted to bedrooms for guests and and a home office, joining both homes with the addition. As the finishing touch to the entire project several decks were added.

The new building was produced by a local construction company that specializes in specific packages and had limited floor plan choices , as opposed to being a true custom builder.  Keyser Construction was brought in to do the custom work of the addition and the decks once the original company was complete.

Acting as the side entrance to the home, the addition is primarily a mud room, essential in the country in Oregon, and allowing easy access to the private spaces without needing to move through the main home.  Custom cabinets provide built in storage and skylights insure that the room is bright and airy despite it's basic uses.

French doors to an inner courtyard creates a protected and private area to be outside, connecting to the kitchen space just inside.
